Freemasonry is a brand, blue its colour, the Square & Compass is its logo, supported with value statements like “Making Good Men Better” and “Our Principles Make a Difference"

We held our Installation Dinner earlier this year in February with a good attendance iatGreystones Golf Club. As usual, we enjoyed an excellent meal with good company and plenty of banter.

Also in February, we carried out a Fellow Craft Degree for Brother R∴ F∴ who took great interest in what was taking place and is looking like a promising Mason as his Masonic career continues.

Sadly Brother W∴ d∴ K∴ has had to relocate to London for work from Monday to Friday and cannot attend Emerald Lodge No. 49. Bro W∴ is remaining as a member of our Lodge and hopes to join a Lodge in London.
We wish Bro W∴ the best of luck in his new venture.

The Lodge lost a fine longstanding Mason in February with the passing of Right Worshipful Bro D∴ B∴.
RW Bro D∴ was a tremendous asset to Emerald Lodge 49 who was always ready to pass on his experience and kept his enthusiasm for freemasonry right up to his last attendances at Lodge. RW Bro D∴ also had a great sense of humour and kept the Brethren entertained with his witty asides.
Worshipful Brother N∴ F∴ spoke at length about RW Bro D∴, his Masonic career and life in different parts of the country.

Lodge 49 has granted a request to Lodge Ireland 2000, the Internet Lodge, to hold their physical Stated Communication in Lodge 49's Masonic Hall.
This meeting will take place on Saturday, 4th June 2016 at 3pm.
Lodge Ireland 2000 also have extended a hearty invitation to the Provincial Grand Master or a senior Officer to deputise, The Worshipful Master, Wardens and Brethren of Masonic Lodges that use the hall to join them at labour.

We are looking forward to carrying out more degrees over the next 2 months before the summer recess particularly in June when we have a candidate who has returned from Anguila in the Caribbean to Greystones. This candidate, Mr Jo∴ T∴ hopes to have his father who is a prominent member of the Grand Lodge of the Netherlands and also his brother present for his Entered Apprentice degree.
So plenty happening in Emerald Lodge No. 49 and we look forward to the next events over the coming months.
